Slot game development, concept to build
One small team across art, animation, frontend and math, so decisions do not get lost between vendors.
Full slots typically $25,000 to $45,000
Brief us on your slot
What you get.
A slot is often split between several suppliers: one for art, one for animation, one for the client, one for the maths. Every handover is a chance for something to be lost. We cover the whole game in one team, so the person drawing a symbol knows how it will animate, how it will pay and how it will load on a phone.
- Game design document and flow. The theme, mechanic, features and every screen the player will see, agreed before production.
- Art and animation. Symbols, backgrounds, UI and title art, animated in Spine. See slot game art and slot animation.
- The game client. An HTML5 frontend built with PixiJS and Svelte, responsive for mobile and desktop, with clear controls and readable results at every screen size.
- Integration. Connection to your remote game server (RGS), or to the Engine web-sdk if you publish on Engine.
- Math model and RTP. Paytable, features, volatility and a locked RTP with simulation reports. See slot math and RTP.
- QA builds and handoff. Tested builds at each milestone, and a final package with source, assets and documentation.
How it works.
- Concept and mechanic. We agree the theme, the grid and the core mechanic, whether that is paylines, ways or a cluster board.
- A first math draft and a greybox. A playable version with placeholder art, so the feel of the game can be judged before any final art exists.
- Art direction and a vertical slice. One finished slice of the game, with final art, animation and sound hooks, to confirm the direction.
- Full production. The rest of the symbols, screens, features and animation, reviewed in playable builds.
- QA, compliance checks and delivery. Testing across devices, RTP reconciliation, the checks your platform or test lab needs, and the final handoff.
You play the game at every milestone. Decisions are made on a build you can hold in your hand, not on a slide.
The stack.
- PixiJS for the board, symbols and effects, rendered with WebGL so reels and wins stay smooth on mid-range phones.
- Svelte for the interface around the board: bet controls, balance, menus, rules and history screens.
- Spine runtime for character and symbol animation, driven by game events rather than fixed timelines.
- Responsive layouts that rearrange the board and controls for portrait and landscape instead of simply shrinking them.
- Asset loading planned per screen, so the first spin is available quickly and heavier feature assets load in the background.
We keep the game client separate from the maths and the server, so each part can be tested on its own and replaced without rewriting the rest.
Two ways to work.
A full slot. We take the game from concept to a finished build, and you bring the platform, the market and the distribution.
Part of your team. If you already have some of the pieces, we join for the frontend, the art and animation, or the maths only, and work to your pipeline, naming and review process.
From our studio.
Two of our own games are in development. They show how we work, not client results.
Inkfall is a cluster game with a cast of stationery characters. It combines a Svelte and PixiJS frontend with Spine character assets, and the same visual language carries from the title artwork into the board.
Brine & Gold is an underwater treasure expedition built around a 7x7 cluster board, with a clear primary action and a consistent visual world. It runs as a development model with virtual credits.
Both games are being built for Engine. If you plan to publish on Engine, see our Engine publishing page for how review and the commercial terms work.
Pricing.
Full slots typically $25,000 to $45,000
A complete HTML5 slot: art, animation, frontend and math, integrated with one RGS. Where a game sits in the range depends on the number of features, the depth of animation and the volume of art. Final quotes follow a short scoping call.
Brief us on your slot
Questions studios ask.
Can you integrate with our RGS?
Yes. Share your RGS documentation early and we will build the client to its API, including round results, balance updates and error states.
Do you build for Engine?
Yes. We build the frontend on the Engine web-sdk and the math with the Engine math-sdk, and package the game for Engine review.
Which devices do you support?
Mobile first, in portrait and landscape, plus desktop browsers. Every delivery is tested at mobile and desktop sizes in current browsers.
Who owns the game?
For client work, you do, as set out in the contract. For games published on Engine, ownership, exclusivity and distribution follow the Engine publisher agreement; our Engine page explains what to check.
Can you take over a game in progress?
Yes. We review what exists first, from art files to code and math, and propose a plan to finish it before any work starts.
